In a heartfelt tribute to his exemplary partnership and leadership within the community, retiring Ramapo Police Chief Martin Reilly was honored by Hatzoloh and Chaverim of Rockland. The appreciation ceremonies, held on Monday night, underscored the significant impact Chief Reilly has had on local emergency services.
The evening began at Hatzoloh of Rockland’s headquarters on Grove Street, where the Hatzoloh leadership and members gathered at 7 PM to celebrate Chief Reilly’s contributions. Following the initial ceremony, the celebrations moved to Chaverim of Rockland’s headquarters at 8:30 PM where Chaverim Of Rockland’s leadership and members gathered.
Chief Reilly, who is set to retire on Friday, was praised for his dedication and service. Incoming Chief Daniel Hyman, who will assume his new role the day after Reilly’s retirement, also attended the events.
Speakers at both ceremonies included Supervisor Michael Specht, Retiring Chief Reilly, and Incoming Chief Hyman. Captains Kevin Lee and Michael Colbath were also in attendance, highlighting the close-knit nature of the Ramapo emergency services community.
Chief Reilly’s retirement marks the end of an era, but his legacy of leadership and community collaboration will continue to inspire and guide the Ramapo Police Department under the new leadership of Chief Hyman.
