RCC Hosts First Naturalization Ceremony Since Pause, Thanks to Lawler’s Intervention

On Friday, a naturalization ceremony was held at Rockland Community College, attended by Congressman Mike Lawler, who played a key role in making the event possible. The ceremony welcomed a new group of American citizens, and Congressman Lawler expressed gratitude to USCIS and RCC for ensuring these important milestones continue to take place in Rockland County.

The newest citizens—hailing from countries including the Dominican Republic, Brazil, India, and Uzbekistan—are already enriching the community as teachers, engineers, health care professionals, and in many other fields. Their personal journeys, and their decision to embrace the responsibilities of U.S. citizenship, continue to strengthen the Hudson Valley.
