In a prompt and efficient response to a house fire at 5 Laurie Lane, near West Maple Avenue, the Monsey Fire Department played a crucial role in averting a major disaster. No injuries have been reported in the incident.
Initially believed to have started in the kitchen and subsequently causing damage to a nearby vehicle, the fire was swiftly contained thanks to the Monsey Fire Department’s prompt and efficient response. Due to their quick actions, a significant portion of the residence was spared. Fortunately, all occupants safely evacuated. It is suspected that the fire may have been ignited by spent fireworks that were improperly disposed of in a trash can near the home.
Ramapo Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
