RAMSEY NJ NEAR AIRMONT: Driver Suffers Medical Episode, Crashes Into Kiryas Joel Hatzolah Ambulance on Route 17

Emergency responders worked for nearly two hours Shabbos morning after a crash involving an Kiryas Joel Hatzolah ambulance on Route 17 in Bergen County near Airmont.

According to Ramsey Police, the incident occurred at approximately 6:10 a.m. when a Chevy pickup truck driven by a 66-year-old man from Congers, NY, suffered a medical episode and collided with a Kiryas Joel Hatzolah ambulance on Route 17 North.

Authorities said the ambulance was not responding to an emergency at the time and no patients were on board, as the crew was heading home from a hospital after completing a transport.

Ramsey Police, Ramsey Rescue, and additional emergency personnel responded to the scene and remained there for about two hours while handling the crash and assisting those involved. Despite the impact, police reported that no significant injuries occurred, though photos from the scene show the ambulance sustained heavy damage.
