Ramapo Supervisor Specht Meets with Orange and Rockland Leadership to Discuss Winter Preparedness

Supervisor Michael Specht recently met with Michelle O’Connell, the new President of Orange and Rockland Utilities, along with her executive team, to discuss crucial preparations for the upcoming winter season.

The meeting centered on Orange and Rockland’s Emergency Preparedness Planning, ensuring the company is well-equipped to handle potential challenges brought on by harsh weather conditions. Supervisor Specht emphasized the importance of timely and efficient responses to emergencies that may impact residents of the Town of Ramapo.

A key outcome of the discussion was Orange and Rockland’s agreement to expedite the activation of streetlights previously installed by the Town of Ramapo. This initiative is expected to enhance road safety and visibility during the shorter daylight hours of winter.
