RAMAPO: Road Closures on North Saddle River Road and Grove Street Begin January 12 for Infrastructure Work

The Town of Ramapo Highway Department has announced a series of temporary road closures set to begin Monday, January 12, as crews undertake a major water main service and drainage piping project affecting North Saddle River Road and Grove Street.

According to the town, the work will require full road closures within the designated work zones, taking place during work hours only, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Officials emphasized that there will no construction activity or road closures on Fridays.

The project will be completed in multiple phases. Phase 1 includes a full closure of North Saddle River Road from West Maple to Homestead Lane. Phase 2 will extend the closure on North Saddle River Road from Homestead Lane to Grove Street. Phase 3 will involve a full closure of Grove Street from North Saddle River Road to Augusta Road. A detailed map released by the town reflects Phase 1 only, with updated maps and timelines for later phases to be released.

Town officials are urging parents and school bus managers to plan ahead and adjust pickup and drop-off routes as necessary to accommodate detours during construction.

The Town of Ramapo asks residents for patience as crews complete the infrastructure upgrades, noting that the anticipated duration of the project is approximately seven weeks.

  1. Mothers & Kids are doomed no matter when you do the construction Morning or Night, when you do it in the morning hours busses pick up and drop off will be a disaster, when you do it at night some parents will definitely complain about noise so they are anyway doomed, but when you do it in the morning the whole town will be doomed as well vs at night the rest of the town won’t suffer.

Additionally this intersection has the a Hatzalah garage and the Monsey FD that adds more urgency to do it at night when they are less busier.

  2. This project will be a disaster for mostly the entire town.
I guess the town leadership doesn’t care for the constituents with a nice “excuse” that some neighbors will complain regarding the noise
So to mostly entire town be ready for it.
    Good luck

  3. This work should be done at night!

The reason they have to do the update is because of all the new houses, which is fine – so they should be able to put up with some noise!
The whole town has to suffer now?
