The Town of Ramapo Police Department has announced the successful graduation of Police Officer Mike Simpson and K-9 Otto from an intensive 16-week Patrol K-9 School, officially welcoming the pair as the department’s newest patrol K-9 team.
The comprehensive training program, conducted at the Orange County Sheriff’s K-9 Training Facility, included instruction in obedience, tracking, criminal apprehension, handler protection, building searches, and evidence recovery.
Officer Simpson and K-9 Otto had previously earned certification in narcotics detection. With the successful completion of patrol school, the team is now fully certified and prepared to serve the Ramapo community in an expanded patrol capacity.
The Ramapo Police Department congratulated Officer Simpson and K-9 Otto on the achievement and wished the new K-9 team continued success and a safe career together.
