In early December, the Ramapo Police Department received multiple reports of larcenies from vehicles, primarily in the Village of Airmont. These thefts occurred during the overnight hours over two separate weekends. Items stolen from unlocked vehicles included cash, credit cards, and various personal belongings.
Following the thefts, the suspects attempted to use the stolen credit cards at retail stores across Rockland County and New Jersey.
After a detailed investigation, the Ramapo Police Investigations Division identified one of the suspects as Keith Casas, a 29-year-old resident of the Village of Airmont. Casas was arrested on December 27, 2024, and charged with multiple counts, including Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny, and Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree. He was released with desk appearance tickets for future court dates in the Village of Airmont Court and the Town of Clarkstown Court.
The Ramapo Police Investigations Division continues its efforts to identify additional suspects involved in the thefts. Residents are urged to lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity to help prevent further incidents.
