On Thursday, Lieutenant Blaine Howell of the Ramapo Police Department achieved a significant milestone, graduating from the esteemed FBI National Academy. Chief Dan Hyman attended the ceremony to celebrate this notable accomplishment.
The FBI National Academy, renowned for its rigorous academic and leadership training, is a prestigious program that attracts law enforcement leaders from around the globe. Over 11 intensive weeks, participants engage in advanced courses covering Leadership Essentials, Fitness in Law Enforcement, Critical Incident Decision-Making, Wellness & Resiliency, Communication, Human Engagement, and Drug Enforcement Strategies.
Lt. Howell was part of the 292nd session, which included 256 graduates from across the United States and 27 international representatives, spanning military and federal civilian leadership roles. His graduation places him among an elite group of Ramapo police leaders who have completed this program, including Chief Hyman (251), Administrative Lt. Joyce (276), and Lt. Giardina (278).
In addition to personal accomplishments, Session 292 collectively raised over $48,000 for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, showcasing their commitment to service beyond the classroom.
The Ramapo Police Department extended its gratitude to Michael Specht, Town of Ramapo Supervisor, the Town of Ramapo Board, and the local FBI New York office for their support during the process. Special congratulations were also offered to Chief Smith of the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office and all the graduates of Session 292.
