Ramapo Police Reports Busy Weekend with 27 Arrests

Ramapo Police Department officers made a total of 27 arrests over the weekend, with charges ranging from driving while intoxicated (DWI) to domestic assault and various quality-of-life violations.

Among the arrests were four individuals charged with DWI, a domestic-related assault, and several others detained for offenses like public urination near a licensed establishment.

In one notable incident, officers stopped a vehicle for a stop-sign violation, leading to the discovery of several serious infractions. The driver, a 37-year-old male, was found in possession of a prescription bottle containing Schedule 4 controlled substances not listed on the prescription. Additionally, the driver’s license and vehicle registration were both suspended, and a warrant was out for his arrest from the Village of Suffern. Further investigation revealed the presence of cocaine and a switchblade in the vehicle. The individual was arrested, arraigned, and released on his own recognizance before being handed over to the Suffern Police Department due to the outstanding warrant.

The Ramapo Police Department continues to urge the community to work together to maintain safety and security.
