Ramapo Police Partner With Community Outreach Center on School Lockdown Training

At the request of Rabbi Hersh Horowitz of the Community Outreach Center, the Ramapo Police Department developed and delivered a specialized safety education program for local private schools, focusing on the importance of lockdown procedures and emergency preparedness.

The curriculum was designed to provide school administrators and staff with clear, practical guidance on how to respond during critical incidents. The program covers multiple response strategies, incorporates real-world case studies, and concludes with an interactive question-and-answer session to address participants’ concerns.

Over the past several months, the program has been presented on multiple occasions to private schools throughout the community. On Tuesday, the most recent session was led by Ramapo Police personnel, including Sgt. Baird and Sgt. Navarro, who provided hands-on instruction and emphasized preparedness, communication, and coordination to enhance overall school safety.
