Ramapo Police Officer Subdues Aggressive Pedestrian in Physical Altercation During Traffic Stop

On Wednesday just after 6:00PM, while conducting a traffic stop on College Road in close proximity to RCC, a Ramapo police officer experienced an unforeseen incident when an unrelated pedestrian suddenly approached him. The pedestrian initiated a physical altercation, attempting to strike the officer with a closed fist. Despite being confronted with multiple punches, the officer skillfully managed to subdue the aggressor and successfully apprehended him.

The suspect involved in the altercation is a 23-year-old male who has now been taken into custody. He is currently facing several charges, including Attempted Assault, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and Resisting Arrest. Following the incident, he was released on an appearance ticket and is expected to appear for arraignment at Ramapo Justice Court next week.
