Members of the Ramapo Police Department attended the 2026 Annual New York State Law Enforcement Recognition Event, where agencies and individuals from across the state were recognized for their efforts in combating drunk and drugged driving. The event, presented by Mothers Against Drunk Driving New York, STOP-DWI New York, and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, highlights outstanding enforcement, prosecution, and prevention initiatives aimed at reducing impaired driving.
During the ceremony, Ramapo Police Officer Erica Ascuasiati received the Recognition of Excellence Award for her exceptional work in enforcing laws against drunk and drugged driving. The department praised her dedication and commitment to keeping roadways safe.
Ramapo Police emphasized that impaired driving enforcement remains a top priority, noting that officers will continue both proactive enforcement and community education efforts to help prevent dangerous incidents and protect residents.
