Ramapo Police Nab 22-Year-Old in Stolen Vehicle Case, Link Suspect to Multiple Other Cases

On Friday, the Town of Ramapo Police Department investigated a reported stolen vehicle from Hillcrest NY.

Shortly after, the vehicle was located unoccupied not far from where it had been stolen. RPD Detectives and patrol officers conducted surveillance in the area until a suspect returned to the vehicle.

The suspect, a 22-year-old Hispanic male, fled on foot when approached but was apprehended after a brief pursuit.

The suspect was charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree for stealing the vehicle today.

He was also charged in connection with three additional cases from the last few weeks. The charges for those cases are as follows:

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Conspiracy 5th Degree, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree Burglary 2nd Degree, Possession of Burglar’s Tools, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Petit Larceny.

The 22-year-old male was being held at Ramapo PD until he was arraigned later today.
