Ramapo Police Make Multiple DWI Arrests in Overnight Patrols

In a concerted effort to enhance road safety, the Ramapo Police Department’s Midnight squad has been vigilant in its patrols, leading to multiple arrests for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and other violations early this morning.

The first incident occurred at 02:42 AM when a patrol officer initiated a traffic stop after spotting a violation. The driver, a 25-year-old male, was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested and processed at RPD headquarters.

Continuing their proactive efforts, another traffic stop was conducted at 04:19 AM by a patrol officer for several moving violations. The 26-year-old male driver was also discovered to be driving under the influence and faced similar processing and arrest.

A third incident unfolded shortly after, at 04:57 AM, when a patrol supervisor, alongside an officer, stopped a vehicle for driving without headlights and erratic swerving. A 27-year-old female driver was arrested for DWI and processed at the RPD.

Later in the day, at approximately 12:24 PM, the Ramapo PD responded to a call about a driver found asleep behind the wheel. The 43-year-old male driver was arrested for DWI after an investigation.

In addition to these incidents, the morning’s operations resulted in three other arrests for various offenses, including Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration, and displaying a fraudulent license plate.

All individuals arrested were released with a scheduled date to appear at the Town of Ramapo Justice Court, as the Ramapo police department continues its commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the community through diligent patrols and enforcement actions.
