The Ramapo Police Department made several arrests for driving while intoxicated (DWI) during their midnight shift, highlighting their ongoing efforts to ensure road safety.
In one incident, officers discovered a 19-year-old male from Hillcrest asleep at the wheel at an intersection. Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated.
In another case, officers responded to a single-car accident where a vehicle had collided with a tree. The 20-year-old driver from Chestnut Ridge was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Additionally, a 66-year-old male from Central Valley was stopped for erratic driving and was determined to be intoxicated.
Finally, officers encountered a 50-year-old male from Chestnut Ridge who was seen urinating outside a running vehicle. It was later confirmed that he had been operating the vehicle while intoxicated before exiting to urinate in public.
