This week, Ramapo Police K9 Sgt. Cooperstein and K9 Officer McRory successfully completed a specialized training session hosted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), earning certification for passing the National Odor Recognition Test (NORT).

The certification demonstrates the exceptional odor detection capabilities and teamwork of the Ramapo Police canine teams in identifying various explosive compounds, ignitable liquids, and gunpowder-related residue.

Ramapo Police expressed their gratitude to the ATF and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department for hosting the valuable training event.
