Ramapo Police Increased Patrols Lead to Multiple DWI Arrests Over Weekend

This past weekend, the Ramapo Police Department (RPD) intensified their patrol efforts to enforce DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) laws, resulting in several arrests.

Incident on July 5th On July 5th, at approximately 1:45 AM, RPD officers stopped a motorist for multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law (VTL) violations. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the driver, a 34-year-old resident of Haverstraw, was driving while intoxicated and with a suspended license. The individual was processed at RPD and released with a pending court date in the Town of Ramapo.

Incident on July 6th On July 6th, at around 4:55 AM, an RPD officer noticed a vehicle driving without headlights and swerving. The vehicle was stopped, and upon investigation, the driver, a 31-year-old male from Spring Valley, was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested, processed at RPD, and released with a future court date in the Village of New Hempstead.

Additionally, a 28-year-old motorist from Spring Valley was arrested on July 5th for operating a vehicle without an interlock device and driving with a suspended license related to a previous DWI.
