Ramapo Police Holds Promotion Ceremony for Lt. Shawn Bakker, Sgts. Michael Luba, Michael Milovich, and Ronald Simpson

The Ramapo Police Department proudly announced the promotions of four dedicated officers during a special ceremony held on Monday morning at Ramapo Town Hall. The department recognized their service and commitment to the community with these well-earned advancements.

Lieutenant Shawn Bakker has been with the RPD for over 23 years and most recently served as the Special Operations Sergeant, overseeing the Traffic Safety and Community Policing Units. His leadership and experience make him well-suited for his new role.

Three officers have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant:

  • Sergeant Michael Luba, a veteran of over 11 years with the RPD, has served in multiple capacities, including Traffic Safety Officer, Field Training Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, and Car Seat Technician.
  • Sergeant Michael Milovich, with more than seven years of service, has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, and is ARIDE-certified. He is also a member of the RPD Crash Investigation Unit.
  • Sergeant Ronald Simpson, also with over seven years in the department, has served as a Community Policing Officer, Field Training Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, Car Seat Technician, and Crash Reconstructionist.

The Ramapo Police Department congratulates all four officers on their well-earned promotions and thanks them for their continued dedication to serving and protecting the community.
