Ramapo Police Heighten Patrols Amid Global Tensions; No Credible Local Threat at This Time

In response to escalating tensions in the Middle East, Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht and Police Chief Dany Hyman have been closely monitoring the situation to assess any potential impact on the local community. As a precautionary measure, the Ramapo Police Department has deployed additional patrols and resources to areas identified as potentially vulnerable.

Chief Hyman has been in active communication with Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, the department’s detective assigned to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), and the NYPD Intelligence Division liaison to ensure rapid information sharing and coordinated threat assessments.

“This close inter-agency coordination allows us to maintain a unified and proactive approach to public safety,” Chief Hyman told Monsey Scoop. “While there is no credible threat to the Town of Ramapo at this time, we remain vigilant and prepared for any developments.”

Authorities emphasized that continued collaboration, transparency, and community support are key elements in their ongoing security efforts. The Ramapo Police Department remains fully engaged in monitoring the situation and ready to act if necessary.
