Ramapo Police Drone Unit Aids in Quick Apprehension of Walmart Theft Suspects

Just hours after launching its new Drone First Responder (DFR) Unit, the Ramapo Police Department successfully utilized aerial surveillance to track and apprehend two suspects attempting to flee Walmart following an alleged larceny.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., RAPTOR-1, one of the department’s newly deployed drones, captured footage of the suspects as they attempted to escape. Officers on the ground, guided by the real-time aerial feed, swiftly located and detained both individuals.

Authorities have confirmed that the suspects are facing charges of larceny and possession of illegal drugs. Additionally, one of the individuals has an outstanding warrant from the Stony Point Police Department related to a prior larceny case.
