Ramapo Police Drone Quickly Locates Driver After Crash, No Injuries Reported

The Town of Ramapo Police Department utilized its Drone as First Responder program to quickly locate a driver involved in a crash earlier today, helping ensure a swift response and a positive outcome.

According to police, a female caller reported that her father had struck a telephone pole while driving somewhere along Route 59 but was unable to provide an exact location. Dispatchers immediately began efforts to locate the vehicle while deploying the department’s drone unit to canvass the area.

Within minutes, the drone successfully located the vehicle on Brookside Drive, in the rear parking lot of a nearby business. Officers responded to the scene, located the driver, and completed a report.

Authorities confirmed that the male driver was not injured in the incident.

Police noted that the response highlights the effectiveness of their drone program, allowing officers to locate incidents faster and enhance overall public safety across the community.
