Ramapo Police: Dozens of Arrests, Violent Suspects Apprehended in Busy Weekend

The Ramapo Police Department shared a recap of their recent weekend activity on Wednesday afternoon, highlighting a series of arrests and swift law enforcement responses across the town.

Nine drivers were arrested for operating vehicles with suspended licenses, along with numerous other traffic violations. Police say these drivers posed a serious danger to the public and were taken off the roads thanks to proactive patrols.

In addition, nine individuals were charged with driving while intoxicated. Officers noted that every one of these arrests potentially prevented a tragedy.

On Sunday night, Ramapo officers responded to a domestic violence incident where a woman was stabbed with scissors and an 8-year-old child was kicked and punched in the head. The suspect was taken into custody without delay.

In a separate case, police apprehended a suspect wanted for a robbery and stabbing in a nearby jurisdiction during a proactive vehicle stop—demonstrating the department’s role in combating violent crime both locally and beyond.

The department concluded their post by reaffirming their commitment to public safety and reminding residents to call (845) 357-2400 for assistance or 911 in an emergency.
