Ramapo Police Dispatcher Dominick J. D’Alisera Passes Away at 47 After Decades of Public Safety Service

The Town of Ramapo Police Department is mourning the untimely passing of Police Dispatcher Dominick J. D’Alisera #54, who died on March 3, 2026, at the age of 47. Dispatcher D’Alisera joined the Ramapo Police Department in 2022, bringing with him more than three decades of public safety experience in Rockland County.

Before joining Ramapo Police, D’Alisera served for over 20 years as a police dispatcher with both the Spring Valley Police Department and the Haverstraw Police Department. During his career in emergency communications, he handled thousands of calls for help and received numerous commendations for going above and beyond in service to the community. While at the Spring Valley Police Department, where he served for more than 16 years beginning in 2005, he played a key role in implementing critical systems including the department’s records management, telephone, and 911 systems.

In addition to his work behind the console, D’Alisera was deeply involved in Rockland County’s volunteer emergency services. He was a life member of the West Haverstraw Fire Department’s Volunteer Hose Company #2 and a member of Haverstraw Ambulance Corps, Inc., dedicating countless hours to serving residents throughout the county.

Throughout his career, D’Alisera earned recognition for his professionalism and dedication. In 2008, he was acknowledged for assisting in solving a violent assault case in Spring Valley, and in 2009 he was named Dispatcher of the Year for his role in managing a domestic crisis that helped save the lives of three individuals, including a child. He also served for six years as the CSEA Union President and volunteered extensively with the department’s Youth and Police Program.

Most recently assigned to the midnight shift with Ramapo Police, D’Alisera continued his commitment to supporting officers and protecting the community.

The Rockland County Communications Division also expressed its condolences, noting his long and respected career in public safety telecommunications and his dedicated service across multiple agencies in the county.

Dominick D’Alisera is survived by his wife and two-year-old son. Law enforcement agencies and emergency responders throughout Rockland County are remembering him as a devoted public servant whose decades of service and commitment to helping others will not be forgotten.
