The Ramapo Police Department is celebrating a significant milestone with the promotion of Officer Ray Burr to the rank of Detective and the retirement of his loyal K9 partner, Remi.
Detective Burr, a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, began his law enforcement career in 2010. Over the past 14 years, he has served the community in multiple roles, including Patrol Officer, Anti-Crime Team member, and most recently as a K9 handler. In his time with the K9 Unit, he worked alongside Remi, a highly trained dog specializing in patrol operations and narcotics detection.
The duo played a vital role in public safety and crime prevention throughout Ramapo, earning widespread respect for their professionalism and effectiveness. Det. Burr now transitions to the Ramapo Police Investigations Division, where his experience and dedication are expected to continue making a positive impact.
The Ramapo Police Department also extends its best wishes to K9 Remi for a happy and well-earned retirement, recognizing the invaluable contributions he made during his years of service.
