The Ramapo Police Department held two days of hands-on training for its members, led by Dispatchers Seth Needleman and Evan Humphrey, focusing on the FirstTwo and eJustice platforms. The FirstTwo system, developed by CentralSquare Technologies, is designed to provide officers with critical information within the first moments of a response, helping improve decision-making in real time.
As part of the training initiative, Needleman enhanced the system by building layers that display Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) camera locations across the Town of Ramapo. Officials say this upgrade has already proven effective. During a recent fatal hit-and-run investigation, officers utilized the mapping layers to quickly identify a partner agency’s license plate reader, ultimately leading to the identification and capture of the suspect vehicle.
The department emphasized that the training reflects its continued investment in leveraging technology, training, and teamwork to strengthen public safety outcomes, with more advancements expected in the near future.
