Ramapo Police Chief Praises Multi-Agency Effort During President Trump’s Visit to SUNY Rockland

Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman is commending the extensive multi-agency coordination and community cooperation that helped ensure a safe and successful visit by President Donald Trump to the Town of Ramapo last Friday at SUNY Rockland.

According to Chief Hyman, the May 22 presidential visit brought together virtually every local police agency in Rockland County, along with partners from Orange County, Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services, OEP Ramapo, the Town of Ramapo Highway Department, EMS agencies, RCC Public Safety, and numerous other emergency response teams.

The Ramapo Police Department worked closely with the United States Secret Service, which established its command post at Ramapo Police Headquarters for the operation. Chief Hyman noted that the Secret Service specifically requested the department’s Skydio X10 DFR drones, which operated under a Special Government Interest waiver despite a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) being in place.

Additional security resources included Axon’s Outpost license plate reader cameras, which were rapidly deployed to strengthen security operations surrounding the event. Ramapo Police also utilized its UTV unit and participated in explosive detection canine sweeps as part of the overall security effort.

“This was not just about the President; it was about the safety of our entire community,” Chief Hyman said, adding that the operation was successfully completed through teamwork and collaboration between all participating agencies.

Chief Hyman also expressed special appreciation to Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco for his partnership and assistance throughout the planning and execution of the operation.

The chief further thanked local residents and businesses for their patience during the traffic congestion and temporary disruptions caused by the historic presidential visit.

“I thank every agency involved, along with our community, for making this a safe and collaborative success… from Ramapo to the President of the United States of America,” Hyman stated.
