Ramapo Police Arrest Woman For Animal Abuse In New Hempstead

A Ramapo Police Officer investigating an unrelated incident in the Village of New Hempstead recently discovered two dogs tied outside a home in extremely poor condition. The animals appeared malnourished and lacked access to food, water, and shelter.

The officer immediately contacted the Hudson Valley Humane Society and the Ramapo Dog Control Officer. Together, they removed the dogs from the property and transported them for urgent veterinary care.

Following an investigation, Ramapo Police arrested a 37-year-old woman from New Hempstead. She was charged with animal abuse and released pending a future court date.
