Ramapo Police Arrest Two Suspects in Month-Old Loaded Firearm Incident

Approximately one month ago, a Ramapo Police officer initiated a traffic stop due to a vehicle violation. During the stop, the passenger fled the scene on foot, while the officer detained the driver. Upon further investigation, authorities discovered a loaded semi-automatic 9mm handgun, with a round in the chamber, on the passenger side floor of the vehicle.

The driver was immediately arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class-C Felony, for possession of the loaded firearm. The investigation continued with the assistance of a federal task force, in which a Ramapo detective plays a key role. This collaboration led to the identification of the second suspect, who was also charged with possession of the loaded firearm.

Thanks to the diligent work of Ramapo officers and detectives, both suspects were apprehended, and a dangerous weapon was successfully removed from the streets.
