The Ramapo Police Department has successfully arrested suspects involved in a business burglary on Route 59 in Monsey. The incident, which occurred on August 10, 2023, came to light when the business owner reported several stolen checks. After an extensive investigation, RPD detectives discovered that three of these checks were illegally cashed in different locations across Ramapo, Spring Valley, and the Bronx.
The diligent efforts of the RPD detectives led to the identification and arrest of two female suspects. A 38-year-old woman from Northeast Ramapo was apprehended on August 15, 2023, facing charges of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, and Petit Larceny. In a subsequent development, a 40-year-old woman from New City was also charged with similar offenses.
Further investigations revealed a male suspect’s involvement in the initial burglary. In a coordinated operation, RPD detectives, along with the patrol unit, arrested both the male and the second female suspect in Spring Valley. The 43-year-old male from New City faces multiple charges including Burglary 3rd Degree, Forgery, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, and Petit Larceny. Additionally, he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance after being found in possession of crack cocaine.
Despite the severity of the crimes, all parties were released on their own recognizance, pending future court appearances.
