As Monsey Scoop reported, over the past several weeks, detectives from the Ramapo Police Department have been actively investigating a string of larcenies targeting parked vehicles in the Airmont area.
After an intensive investigation, authorities identified suspects, and on Thursday evening, a 29-year-old individual was taken into custody. The suspect faces multiple charges, including Grand Larceny for stolen cash and credit cards, Petit Larceny for other stolen items, and Identity Theft.
In connection with these crimes, the individual was issued 11 appearance tickets—10 for Airmont Court and one for Clarkstown Court, the latter stemming from the use of a stolen credit card in that jurisdiction.
The Ramapo Police Department emphasized its commitment to community safety, assuring residents that protecting their property and upholding their rights remain top priorities. “Your Ramapo officers and detectives are dedicated to holding offenders accountable and ensuring incidents affecting quality of life and safety are thoroughly investigated,” the department stated.
Officials clarified that the release of the suspect on appearance tickets adheres to standard protocol for the ‘E’ Felonies and Misdemeanors involved in this case.
A comprehensive news release with additional details is expected to be issued on Monday.
