Ramapo Police Arrest New Jersey Woman After Montebello Road Rage Incident Involving Imitation Gun

As previously reported by Monsey Scoop, a woman has been arrested following a road rage incident Thursday evening that prompted a large police response.

According to the Ramapo Police Department, officers responded at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, to the area of Hemion Road and Lackawanna Trail after receiving a report of a road rage incident that possibly involved a handgun.

The investigation determined that the confrontation began on the northbound Exit 14B off-ramp of the New York State Thruway before escalating as the vehicles continued to the intersection of Hemion Road and Lackawanna Trail. Before officers arrived, the suspect fled the scene.

Police immediately broadcast a description of the suspect and the vehicle to responding units. A short time later, officers located the vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 59, where an on-scene investigation led to the arrest of a 32-year-old New Jersey woman.

During the investigation, officers recovered an imitation pistol believed to have been used during the incident. Police also determined that the woman’s 9-year-old daughter was inside the vehicle during the encounter.

The defendant has been charged with two counts of Menacing in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Harassment in the Second Degree.

She is currently being held at the Ramapo Police Department pending arraignment.
