Ramapo Police arrested a 30-year-old Spring Valley man this morning after he allegedly struck another motorist with a tire iron during a road-rage confrontation in the parking lot of 5 North Airmont Road.

Officers responded at approximately 9:00 AM and found a 29-year-old West Nyack man suffering injuries to his ribs, knee, elbow, and hip. Police say the incident began as a dispute between the two drivers before turning violent.

The suspect was taken into custody a short time later, and officers recovered the tire iron used in the assault as evidence. He has been charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a felony, and is awaiting arraignment.
