Ramapo Police Arrest Driver for DWI and Passenger for Drug Possession During Holiday Patrol

In the early hours of Friday, August 30, the Town of Ramapo Police Department conducted a special DWI patrol as part of its holiday weekend enforcement efforts.

Shortly after midnight, officers stopped a vehicle on North Main Street for multiple traffic violations. Following an investigation, police determined the driver was operating under the influence of alcohol. Officers also discovered that the driver’s license had been suspended due to a prior DWI arrest in Ramapo just last month.

During the same stop, a passenger in the vehicle was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody and processed at RPD headquarters.

The individuals were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Ramapo Justice Court in September.
