Ramapo Police Announce Heightened Safety Measures For Purim Celebrations

As the joyous Yom Tov of Purim approaches, the Ramapo Police Department is ramping up security efforts across the Town to help ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday for all residents.

The department is working closely with the Town’s Office of Emergency Preparedness and Safety, along with community partners including Chaverim of Rockland, to coordinate safety measures throughout the holiday.

Residents can expect to see an increased police presence, with additional officers on duty and enhanced patrols around religious institutions, shuls, and community gathering locations. Officials say these high-visibility patrols are part of the department’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the community during one of the busiest and most festive times of the year.

Purim is a time of celebration, family, and tradition, and law enforcement officials emphasized that they are proud to stand alongside the community to help ensure the holiday is both joyful and secure.

Authorities are also reminding residents: If you see something that doesn’t look right, report it immediately to your local police department. Community awareness and cooperation remain key components in maintaining public safety.

On behalf of the men and women of the Ramapo Police Department, officials extended wishes to all those celebrating for a safe, happy, and joyous Purim.
