The Town of Ramapo Police Benevolent Association (PBA) hosted its 2025 Ramapo PBA Appreciation Event Monday evening, bringing together local doctors, community organizations, elected officials, and supporters to express gratitude for their ongoing backing of the Ramapo Police Department and its officers.
The event served as an opportunity for the PBA to publicly recognize those in the community who consistently support law enforcement, including medical professionals, volunteer emergency organizations, and municipal, county, state, and federal leaders.
Ramapo PBA President Julianne Franklin told Monsey Scoop the evening was focused on appreciation and unity. “This event was our way of saying thank you to the supporters, doctors, and organizations who stand behind our officers day in and day out,” Franklin said. “Their partnership and encouragement truly make a difference.”
The Ramapo PBA, which represents patrol officers, detectives, and sergeants within the department, highlighted the importance of strong collaboration with community partners. Organizations acknowledged during the evening included Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland County, Chaverim of Rockland, New Square Emergency Services, and the Town of Ramapo Office of Emergency Preparedness, among others.
Franklin also thanked several elected and municipal leaders for their continued cooperation and support, including Ramapo Chief of Staff Mona Montal, Ramapo Police Chief Danny Hyman, Captain Michael Colbath, Captain Kevin Lee, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, Senator Bill Weber, and a representative from Mike Lawler’s office.
The event also marked a leadership transition within the organization, as Franklin announced she will be stepping down as PBA president following her term. Ramapo Police Detective John Youngman was introduced as the incoming PBA president.
The Ramapo PBA said it remains committed to strengthening relationships with community partners and continuing to recognize those who support law enforcement and public safety throughout the Town of Ramapo.

Unbelievable! Our fire department donates to the Ramapo PBA just about every year and we don’t get invited to this shindig, but emergency services like Chaverim and New Square ‘Emergency Services’ get invited. Just wow!
… and women were invited too. Looks like it was a very nice event.
