This morning, officials from the Town of Ramapo convened to discuss plans for the 2025 spring cleanup and pre-Passover preparations. The meeting brought together representatives from Interstate Waste Services (IWS), Rockland Green, the Town of Ramapo, the Ramapo Police Department, the Ramapo Highway and Department of Public Works (DPW), the town’s litter patrol, the Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP), and the fire inspector.
A key focus of the meeting was the scheduling of additional trash pickups in the coming weeks, particularly leading up to Pesach. To accommodate the increased waste disposal needs before the holiday, extra pickups will be scheduled, and flyers and messages will be distributed urging residents to place bulk trash items outside during the two weeks preceding Pesach.
Officials also discussed bolstering litter patrol efforts during this period, as well as deploying street sweepers to help clean the roads. Additionally, preparations for pre-Pesach chametz burn sites were reviewed. As in previous years, four burn sites will be set up, including locations at the Park and Ride, Clover Stadium, Manny Weldler Park, and Clark Park in Airmont—introduced last year and set to return.
The meeting also covered logistics to ensure a smooth execution of these initiatives, including public awareness efforts, safety measures, and potential traffic concerns. Further updates and notices will be shared with residents as the cleanup and holiday preparations progress.
