Ramapo Officer Monika Rodriguez Retires After Two Decades of Service

After 20 years of dedicated service, Officer Monika Rodriguez has retired from the Ramapo Police Department, leaving behind a legacy of commitment, innovation, and community empowerment.

Officer Rodriguez spent the bulk of her career as a key member of the department’s patrol division, earning the trust of both her colleagues and the community she served. Beyond her patrol duties, Rodriguez took on a significant role in modernizing the department’s technological capabilities, often being the go-to officer when it came to embracing and implementing new tech initiatives.

However, it was her work as an instructor in the department’s Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) program that truly set her apart. Rodriguez empowered countless women in the community, providing them with life-saving self-defense skills to protect themselves from attackers. Her impact in this role resonated deeply, with many crediting her for giving them the confidence to stay safe.

As Officer Rodriguez steps into retirement, colleagues, friends, and the Ramapo community reflect on her two decades of service. Her contributions, both on and off the streets, will be remembered for years to come. The department expressed its gratitude for her unwavering dedication, wishing her the best as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.
