As the community prepares for the upcoming Pesach, the Town of Ramapo is rolling out its annual Spring Clean-Up initiative, designed to help residents freshen up their homes and neighborhoods in time for the season.
The clean-up will run from March 31 through April 10, during which residents are permitted to place bulk items at the curb for collection. The Town is dispatching extra sanitation crews to manage the increase in volume and ensure that all items are removed in a timely and orderly fashion.
In addition to bulk pick-up, street sweeping operations will be intensified, and litter patrol teams will be deployed to keep roads and public areas clean and attractive during this busy time.
However, residents are reminded that hazardous household waste is not part of this collection. Items such as:
- Paints
- Batteries
- Cleaning products
- Pesticides
- Fluorescent light bulbs
must be taken to the Rockland County Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Pomona for proper disposal. Tires are also not permitted for curbside pickup.
Town officials are encouraging all residents to participate and take pride in their neighborhoods as the community prepares for the holiday.
“Let’s make Ramapo shine for Pesach!” the Town announced in a statement.
For additional information or to schedule a pick-up, residents can call 845-537-5100 ext. 433 or email MargarettenJ@ramapo.org.
