Ramapo Holds Open House on Comprehensive Plan Update

The Town of Ramapo hosted a public open house on Thursday, February 27, allowing residents to share input on updating the comprehensive plan for western Ramapo, including Monsey and Hillcrest.

While turnout was modest, attendees voiced concerns about traffic, housing availability, and preserving the area’s rural character. Representatives from MJ Engineering collected feedback to present to the Town Board.

The discussion follows ongoing community pushback against development in western Ramapo. At a November 2024 public hearing on Planned Unit Developments (PUDs), residents packed town hall, demanding fair housing options and stricter oversight of developers.

Another open house is planned, with details to be announced. Updates are available at www.ramapo.org.
