In response to recent military action in Iran, law enforcement agencies across Rockland County have issued public safety alerts and are intensifying security measures to safeguard local communities.
Ramapo: Police Chief Dan Hyman and Town Supervisor Michael Specht confirmed that the Ramapo Police Department is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with law enforcement partners at the federal, state, and local levels. Chief Hyman conferred with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, NYPD Intelligence Division, neighboring police departments, and Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, whose Intelligence Division remains on high alert. In a show of preparedness, Ramapo Police will be increasing patrol visibility throughout the town, with additional support from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office.
Clarkstown: Police Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker announced increased patrols and security checks around local religious institutions, commercial centers, and other key sites. Chief Wanamaker is actively communicating with intelligence partners across all levels of government to monitor for any emerging threats. Officers remain on high alert and committed to protecting the Clarkstown community.
Haverstraw: Law enforcement officials in the Town of Haverstraw have also stepped up patrols and are receiving additional backup from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office. Officers urge residents to report any suspicious activity immediately, reinforcing the message: “If you see something, say something.”
Rockland County District Attorney’s Office: District Attorney Tom Walsh emphasized that his office remains in constant coordination with local and federal law enforcement agencies. The Rockland County Crime Analysis Center is actively monitoring social media and other platforms for potential threats. DA Walsh reassured residents that Rockland is protected by some of the finest law enforcement professionals, all working tirelessly to ensure public safety.
