POMONA: Person Trapped, Two Hospitalized After Car Slams Into Tree on Route 45

A serious MVA occurred early Thursday morning at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Route 45 near Pomona Road, when a car crashed into a tree, leaving one person trapped and another injured.

The driver was able to self-extricate with injuries, while the passenger was trapped and sustained serious injuries. Firefighters from the Hillcrest Fire Department worked to extricate the driver from the wreckage, with assistance from Spring Hill EMS and Ramapo Police.

Both individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment—one to Nyack Hospital and the other to Good Samaritan Hospital. Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the driver may have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Ramapo Police are investigating the incident.
