Today at approximately 12:45 PM, the Piermont Fire Department Dive Team responded to a call from the Pearl River Fire Department for an extraordinary animal rescue mission.
A distressed duck had become entangled in a fishing leader, leaving it trapped on a frozen surface of the water. With temperatures plummeting and time running out, Dive Lieutenants Scott and Jake Silva stepped up to perform the rescue.
Braving the icy conditions, the duo successfully freed the duck, demonstrating skill, dedication, and compassion for wildlife.
