Piermont Fire Department Announces Closure of Pier End for Safety Reasons

Following an assessment by Blue Shore Engineering, the Piermont Fire Department has announced that the end of the Pier will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians due to safety concerns.

The inspection revealed significant deterioration in the pilings and concrete on the underside of the Pier. Acting on the recommendations of the engineering report, the Village Board made the decision to restrict access to ensure public safety.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid the affected area until further notice. The Village Board is expected to work closely with engineers to determine the necessary repairs and a timeline for reopening the Pier.
