At approximately 1:45 a.m. Friday morning, a wild scene unfolded at the Long Mountain traffic circle connecting Route 6 and the Palisades Parkway when a stolen vehicle with Connecticut plates crashed.
Sources tell Monsey Scoop the vehicle had three occupants when it wrecked. Two of them bolted from the scene and vanished into the surrounding woods. The driver, however, wasn’t as lucky. He was reportedly heavily intoxicated and was taken into custody by New York State Police with backup from Monroe Police.
Further investigation confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen by the NYPD out of Brooklyn. A K-9 unit was called in to hunt down the two fugitives, but despite an intense search, they remain at large. The case is under active investigation.
