Sunday morning at approximately 4:40 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a serious crash near Exit 12 after a vehicle struck a tree and erupted in flames with the driver trapped inside.
New York State Police officers arrived quickly and heroically pulled the victim from the burning car, saving their life. The driver sustained significant injuries and was transported to Westchester Medical Center for further treatment.
Emergency responders included Spring Hill EMS, Hillcrest Fire Department, Rockland Paramedics, and New York State Police.
