Late Monday evening, emergency personnel responded to a three-car MVA on the Palisades Parkway northbound, between exits 13 and 14. Upon arrival, responders discovered one vehicle overturned off the roadway near a tree, with one individual trapped inside. The victim was found conscious and alert.
The Thiells Fire Department swiftly arrived at the scene, stabilizing the overturned vehicle and cutting through the windshield to extricate the victim. A separate crew stretched a car fire line as a precaution in case the vehicle ignited.
The victim was safely freed and handed over to Stony Point EMS and Rockland Paramedics. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The New York State Police also responded to the incident, ensuring safety and assisting with the investigation.
