OUTRAGEOUS ROBOCALL: Rockland County Sends Unauthorized Measles Alert Misusing Hatzoloh’s Name

Ramapo residents woke up Wednesday morning to a shocking and unauthorized robocall blasted to thousands of homes in the Town of Ramapo, a call falsely presented as an “urgent notification from Hatzoloh of Rockland County,” warning of a community measles outbreak and urging residents to call Hatzoloh’s emergency hotline with questions.

The prerecorded message stated that “a measles outbreak has occurred in our community,” instructing residents to get vaccinated, avoid public places if symptomatic, and to call Hatzoloh at 845-425-1600 for guidance, overwhelming the volunteer EMS organization with a sudden influx of non-emergency calls.

Hatzoloh of Rockland County confirmed to Monsey Scoop that the robocall was completely unauthorized, not coordinated with them in any way.

While measles is indeed a concern in various parts of the region, Hatzoloh emphasized that medical guidance, including vaccination questions, should be directed to personal physicians, not emergency hotlines intended for life-saving situations.

Hatzoloh further noted that their hotline was “bombarded with unnecessary calls” following the county-issued robocall, potentially delaying response to genuine emergencies.

Community leaders and residents alike expressed outrage that Rockland County disseminated a medical advisory using Hatzoloh’s name without permission, creating confusion and placing undue burden on a volunteer emergency service.

Health concerns must always be taken seriously, and residents are urged to consult their doctors regarding vaccination, symptoms, and medical guidance. But the county’s decision to issue a robocall in Hatzoloh’s name, without authorization, has raised significant questions about procedure, communication, and respect for community partners.

  1. We will remember exactly who thought it was okay to fake Hatzolah’s name and gamble with our emergencies.
Public apology to Hatzolah and every resident NOW, or consider every bridge burned for good. Shame on every official who signed off on this.

  2. Every single official who approved this, every supervisor who didn’t stop it, every county employee who pressed “send” — your names should be public by sundown.
We deserve to know exactly who decided Jewish blood is disposable collateral damage for their little public-health theater.
