Esther Waldman, a longtime educator, is campaigning to become a trustee of the Finkelstein Library. The election is scheduled for May 7, from 7 AM to 9 PM, at the library located at 24 Chestnut Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Eligibility to vote extends to registered voters residing within the East Ramapo School District.
Waldman’s campaign emphasizes her commitment to enhancing language and literacy enrichment for children, ensuring easy and free access to quality Jewish literature, and making the library more accessible to the frum community. With a Bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University earned at age 19 and a Master’s degree from Pace University at 21, Waldman brings a robust educational background to her candidacy.
Currently serving as a Title I Director in New Square, she focuses on literacy enrichment for elementary students. Waldman’s career has included direct student interaction, program direction, and educational workshops, providing her with a deep understanding of the pivotal role that books and literacy play in child development.
Residing in Monsey with her husband and three children, Waldman’s personal life also reflects her professional passions. Her family, including two avid young readers and a toddler. Waldman aims to leverage her expertise and love for children’s literature to inspire young learners to embrace knowledge and cherish books.
