ORANGETOWN: Quick Response by Orangeburg FD Prevents Major Fire Damage at Conway House

Emergency personnel, including firefighters, swiftly responded to a structure fire at the Conway House, located at 96 Old Orangeburg Road, earlier today.

The fire, which originated on the exterior of the building, spread rapidly up the siding. However, thanks to the prompt arrival and action of the Orangeburg Fire Dept and other emergency personnel, the flames were extinguished before they could reach the interior of the building or the attic, preventing potentially extensive damage.

The Orangeburg Fire Department was alerted by an automatic alarm call and arrived on the scene within minutes. Upon arrival, they discovered an active structure fire. Their quick response and efficient efforts ensured the safety of the property and nearby residents.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Residents are reminded of the importance of functional alarm systems, which played a crucial role in averting a more severe incident.
